Mother Teresa Scholarship

Overview

Mary Teresa Bojaxhiu, MC (26 August 1910 - 5 September 1997), better known as Mother Teresa, in 1950, founded the Missionaries of Charity. Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu was born in Skopje-at the time, part of the Ottoman Empire. After eighteen years, shemoved to Ireland and then to India, where she lived most of her life. Saint Teresa of Calcutta was canonised on 4 September 2016.

Mother Teresa received several honours, including the 1962 Ramon Magsaysay Peace Prize and the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize. Mother Teresa was admired by many for her charitable work.

In 1962 the Indian government awarded Mother Teresa the Padma Shri, one of its highest civilian honours, for her services to the people of India. In order to recognize the philanthropic work of Mother Teresa the following scholarships are proposed to offer :

  • This scholarship will be of 25% of the two years Academic Fees the following with minimum 40% benchmark disability
  • The candidates should have scored min 60% marks at the Graduation examination

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must apply through Sri Balaji University, Pune’s online/offline Scholarship Process.

The candidate must clear SBUP’s selection process (GD, PI and Essay).

Eligible students may apply for one or more scholarships separately on the links provided on SBUP website before the stipulated date and time.

If the candidate is eligible, he/she will be awarded only one scholarship for which he / she is eligible.

If the student was awarded the scholarship in First year in such case to continue the scholarship in Second year then he / she must have fulfilled the following criteria; i) Must have passed with minimum 70 % marks in earlier year. ii) Should not have any backlog in Internal as well as external subjects. iii) Should have minimum 80 % LHR in the earlier semesters/year. iv) Should not have his / her name in the ‘Red List’. v) Any student who is found with indisciplined behavior in earlier year/semester shall be disqualified.

As per the conditions mentioned above in Point No. 5, the students who are fulfilling these conditions are eligible for getting second year scholarship. The Director of the respective Institute, will scrutinize and verify the eligibility of those students (mentioned under point No. 5) and send the list of eligible students to the Registrar’s Office for further process by 25th June.

As mentioned in ‘Sant Janabai Scholarship’ Point No. C, the Director of the respective Institute will scrutinize and verify the eligibility of those students and will send the list of eligible students by 25th June to the Registrar’s Office for consideration of 100% scholarship to them in first year.

The First Year student who awarded Dr. P.C. Shejwalkar Scholarship (For EWS student), to continue the scholarship in the second year; he /she must have passed minimum 70% marks in earlier year and should submit the valid EWS certificate in their institute in Sthe econd Year also. Basic Eligibility Criteria No. 5 ii), iii), iv) and v) will remain applicable. The Institutes will verify the EWS certificate and will prepare the eligible students list and send to the Registrar’s Office for further process by 25th June.

The scholarship is recommended to each student for the Batch 2025-2027.

If any student who has been granted the scholarship cancels the admission or discontinues the program in subsequent year, the scholarship amount shall be recovered.

Selection Process

A committee comprising of University officials headed by the Vice Chancellor will nominate the eligible students for this scholarship.
